Solar Christmas Lights
By Dewitt Mosby
The "No Brainer" way to reduce holiday energy! More and more people are beginning to realize the benefits of purchasing solar LED lights for outdoor Christmas displays. They can be a little more expensive initially, however the prices have come down for the past several years, and this trend should continue the upcoming holiday season. There are three main reasons that make solar Christmas lights perfect for Christmas outdoor lighting. Ease of installation, reduction of electricity costs and environmentally friendly. Installation Most solar Christmas lights being sold now use LED technology, which requires very little power. Therefore a small solar panel is sufficient to produce all the power that is required to operate them. The best part about this, is that you just stick the solar panel in the ground where it can get sunlight during the day, and that's it. There is no hassle of stringing lights, locating and replacing burnt out bulbs, dangerous exposed extension cords and overloaded electrical sockets. Cost effective The best part about solar Christmas lights is you don't have to pay for any electricity. Once you have invested in the initial costs for the lights, the rest is free. After a year or two of use you are easily ahead. LED lights rarely go out and the life expectancy is many many years. Solar power is green! Every year, during the holiday season, mega wattages of power - often produced in coal fired electrical plants - is used simply to light Christmas displays. Think of the environmental impact that switching to solar Christmas lights would have.
